Illness/Problems
Communication and/or speech problems, knowledge used unwisely, ignorance, lack of discernment, thyroid and immune system problems.
It is the chakra of speech, communication, expression, creativity, judgment, and intuition. Vishuddha governs throat, neck, arms, hands, brachial or cervical plexus, Thyroid gland, ears, and the sense of hearing.
Vishuddha Chakra is represented by a sixteen-petalled lotus flower containing the Sanskrit vowels, stand for spirit. Within the lotus is a triangle symbolizing speech, a full moon that is the symbol of nada, pure cosmic sound, purity, and purification. Within the moon is Airavata, the king-god of elephants (it is white and has four tusks), a guardian deities and vehicle of god Indra.
In addition to sound, this Chakra is connected with hearing. When active listening is neglected, we need to develop the outer ear before the subtle inner ear can be available to us. Those operating from the higher Chakras frequently find the real message behind their words is not “heard”. When the throat Chakra is functioning, thought and speech slow down and communication is more considered.
